Katherine Chen
Katherine Chen is a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist in California. She comes from a family deeply rooted in Chinese medicine, acupuncture, and herbology. Katherine studied Nutrition & Biochemistry at Cornell, got an MBA from Wharton, and worked in finance & tech in NYC and SF.
After a serious ski accident with multiple injuries and TBI, Katherine found healing through Chinese medicine. This experience ignited her passion for modern Eastern medicine, which can help to restore the body and manage pain. Katherine pursued a master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the University of East-West Medicine in Sunnyvale, CA. She worked w Dr. LieZhen Wang (an expert in herbology, internal medicine, and endocrinology from the Peking Union Medical College Hospital in China) and an American acupuncturist Brian Dempsey, who specializes in pain management in Davis, CA. Katherine specializes in the following areas: - Pain management and post-orthopedic surgery recovery - TBI and post-concussion recovery, headaches, dizziness/vertigo, anxiety, and depression (adolescents and adults) - Women’s issues (PMS, menopause), IVF preparation, and postpartum recovery.
Katherine is fluent in both English and Chinese Mandarin, allowing her to act as an ambassador between the two cultures and communities. She provides holistic care to her patients and helps them achieve optimal health through acupuncture, herbs, tui-na therapy, and qi gong.
Katherine also works at the Bayhill Acupuncture Clinic in San Bruno and is the acupuncturist for the LiveFit Gym in SF. In her spare time, Katherine enjoys outdoor activities, skiing, tennis, golf, and spending time with family and friends.
